BIOGRAPHY
I am Louis Harrild, a native of Portsmouth, England, with a profound passion for film that has been in me since a young age.
My cinematic journey commenced during my final year of college when I spearheaded a youth programming group at the Depot Cinema in Lewes, aimed at rekindling the interest of 16–25-year-olds in cinema. Subsequently, I led this initiative as part of a program facilitated by the Independent Cinema Office and British Film Institute, advocating for the establishment of similar youth programming groups nationwide.

Transitioning from the exhibition sector, I pursued my aspiration to create films by enrolling in Film Production and Screenwriting at the University of Chichester. There, I honed my technical proficiency in cameras such as the Sony FS7, Arri Alexa Classic, and the Blackmagic Cinema Cameras, alongside mastering software like Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Despite my technical acumen, my inclination toward directing and screenwriting emerged, leading me to helm numerous projects during my university tenure.

Alongside my academic pursuits, I co-founded 9 Minds Production with eight peers, initiating a dynamic venture to create a number of 'passion projects' which now spans 3 years of diverse film formats, including short films, music videos, and documentaries. Within our collaborative framework, each team member contributes specialized skills, fostering a harmonious environment that consistently produces high-quality content, while collectively being critical and questioning how we can create an even better project next time.

As a young filmmaker in my early 20s, I embody ambition, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to seeking new projects. Eagerly anticipating a promising and successful career, I am poised for the exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
